Linear polyethylene

Linear low-density or high-pressure polyethylene (LLDPE) is soft elastic material with a density of from 0,915 to 0,925 g/cm3 and a high proportion of short molecular branches. Properties of linear low-density polyethylene is intermediate between the properties of HDPE and LDPE properties. But LLDPE has, compared to LDPE, more homogeneous distribution of the groups of polymer by molecular weight.

The main advantages of linear polyethylene are: high chemical resistance; high operational characteristics at sufficiently high and low temperatures; high resistance to cracking, improved resistance to puncture. Linear polyethylene has the highest physical and chemical properties.

LLDPE is applied for manufacturing of films of lesser thickness, which saves material and reduces the load on the environment. Because of good transparency, flexibility and durability it is often used in the production of packaging films, stretch films (by the way of blowing and on cast lines), multilayer shrink films and films for lamination. Although this polymer is suitable for many other applications.

Linear metallocene polyethylene (mLLDPE) has a range of interesting properties. Films produced from metallocene polyethylene have excellent mechanical strength and ability to reduce thickness. A homogeneous composition of molecules determines the excellent strength of hot seam and lower melting point, which allows to speed up the welding. The use of metallocenes in blow molding and injection molding production allows to produce films with less haze and high gloss. It is characterized by high impact resistance and exhibits excellent insulating properties.

Rotary linear polyethylene. Rotational molding is a relatively new method of polymer processing, rapidly developing in the last decade. This method gets a wide range of products (tanks, road blocks, containers for liquids and products, plastic pallets, dimensional design products and so on).
